I - I I - I I I I I I I I I I I - Wetland Classification, Identification and Delineation for Roseville Schools Summary Based upon the boundaries indicated on the topographic map provided to Schoell and Madson, Inc., we have identified six wetland basins. The wetlands were field identified on July 22 through July 27, 1994. Review of U.S. Fish and Wildlife National Wetland Inventory maps indicated the presence of seven wetland basins at this location. Project Location and Site Description The site is located south of Lake Owasso, southeast of Owasso Boulevard and east of Dale street. It is in the south 1/2 of section 1, township 29, range 23. The site is located in the city of Roseville, Minnesota. It has experienced significant disturbance as a result of agricultural activities, refuse and city dumping. Portions of the area are characterized by young, even-aged deciduous forest comprised primarily of boxelder trees Acer negundo. Other portions consist of open meadows, comprised of dense areas of poison ivy Toxicodendron radicans, and scattered clusters of smooth sumac Rhus glabra, common buckthorn Rhamnus cathartica and Eastern cottonwood Populus deltoides stands. Characteristics of Wetland Basins Basin 1 Wetland 1 is 1.03 acres in size. Based on the Federal Manual for Identifying and Delineation of Jurisdictional Wetlands (Interagency Task Force on Wetland Delineation, 1989) and the Corps of Engineers Wetland D,elineation Manual (1987) basin 1 is classified as a PEMB wetland (Palustrine Emergent Vegetation Saturated).
