Both the younger trees and significant or largei: trees need to be preserved wherever
possible and supplemented with additional natural plantings where appropriate.

We have discussed the follovving review process and removal guidelines for removing u.'ees with
Mike Falk a~~the City.

. Removing trees, 3winch caliper or larger in size will require submitting
nrchitectural plans and a site grading plan that accuratelv indicates the number.
sizes and &pecies of trees (3Minch or largex:) to be removed or impacted for each
affected lot. You will also need to note any m~or or siinifica,ut trees that will be
removed or the drip zone impacted by construction.

'-'

. You will also need to clearly show how you intend to lessen treo removal, and
include a plan for planting new 1rees to mitigate tree removal. Mitigation should
be at a ratio of 2 new trees planted for each tree removed.

. The minimum St7.e of new trees to mitigate tree removal will be 2 1/2 caliper
inches. Removing major or significant trees (over 4-inches in caliper) win require
planting additional or larger trees -- to be determined after reviewing the specific
impacts.

., Please submit copies of the required plans to Dahlgren. Shal'dlow, and Dban for
review by the Home Owners Association. We will review the plans, make

", ~
