BAR CODE LABEL APPLICATOR WITH 3-AXIS CAPABILITY

News Release

February 5, 1994

p. N/A

computype, Inc. introduces a 3-Axis Applicator that can be
user-programmed to place one-to-n number of labels on multiple components
within a single panel. The system utilizes Computypels proven LA3 000
automatic applicator technology attached to a 3-axis transport which mounts
over your conveyor or material handling system. The applicator consists of
a gantry-style 3-axis placement mechanism, with single or multiple label
feeder mechanisms, and a label placement nosepiece (end-effector) which
incorporates pressure limited Z-axis movement and an optional 90 degree
fourth axis (Theta) rotation. The system is capable of selecting one of
multiple feeders from which to retrieve a label, automatically transferring
that label and placing it anywhere within the work envelope of the
placement gantry. Also, under sofrware control, the user may rotate the
label by 90 degrees before placement.

Full text available on PTS New Product Announcements.
COMPANY:
*Computype

PRODUCT: *Package Labeling Equip (3569141)
EVENT: *Product Design & Development (33)
COUNTRY: *Minnesota (1727)

5/9/19 (Item 2 from file: 16)
DIALOG(R)File 16:PTS PROMT(TM)
(c) 1994 Information Access Co. Until now, using bar
codes to identify the rack and row locations in a large warehouse created
specific problems: Different sizes and densities of the same symbology had
to be purchased in order to provide seamability at different heights on the
rack. For example, at four feet away a scanner requires a symbology with an
"X" dimension (white background) af 40 mils while 100 mils is required at
25 feet (reflective background) .

Full text available on PTS New Product Announcements.

COMPANY:
*Camputype
'PRODUCT: *Pressure Sensitive Labels (2641470)
EVENT: *Product Design & Development (33)
COUNTRY: *United states (lUSA)

5/9/20 (Item 3 from file: 16)
DIALOG(R)File 16:PTS PROMT(TM)
(c) 1994 Information Access Co.
