Identifying Bar Code Solutions
January 25, 1995

~ ~---,
~()\~ If.)! ~.b
~ b~tf-

c!~

Editor
Roseville Review
2515 East 7th Avenue
North 81. Paul, MN 55109

Dear Editor:

Computype, Inc. has been a member of the RoseviUe community for the past 20 years. During that time, our
employment base at the Roseville facility has reached 110 fullwtime people. Our annual payroll exceeds $4
million and property taxes approximate $100,000 per year.

Growth provided Computype with the opportunity to expand its facilities. Space and capital demands were such
that the cost ofremodeIing was not reasonable using conventional financing instruments. Despite the efforts of
the owner of the building, we were forced to seek locations outside Roseville. Our relocation efforts included
communities within Minnesota as well as sites outside the State. In nearly all cases, we discussed significant
concessions on property taxes as well as loans and outright grants.

Our situation was brought to the attention of the City ofRoseville, who contacted us immediately. They let us
know the CityJs objectives have long included maintaining and encouraging economic growth and head of
household quality-type jobs.

Through the efforts of the Roseville City Council, the City Manager's office, First Bank and Fruenshew
Companies, an economic package was created. This package provided Computype with the necessary financing
to stay in Roseville.

It is this type of publici private partnership effort which not only makes Roseville a good place for companies to
locate and grow, but provides the citizens with good paying jobs and a growing property tax base.

Roseville residents can be proud of their city government's ability to be creative and to place the best interest of
their citizens and taxpayers first.

We are pleased to report Computype will continue its residence in Roseville, Minnesota and will strive to
maintain that relationship indefinitely.

Computype; Inc.

Q- ^~~>~

'R:c~ W.
