104Structures will be demolished and rebuilt at Lexington, Villa, Sandcastle, Oasis, <br />o <br />105Autumn Grove and Rosebrook Parks. <br />106Central Park Shelters (FORParks, Victoria Ballfields and Foundation) will be <br />o <br />107remodeled rather than rebuilt. <br />108We will not be replacing the Central Park @Lexington restrooms and redesigning <br />o <br />109the park entrance at this time. <br />110We will not be installing a splash pad at this time. <br />o <br />111Sandcastle Park parking lot will not be relocated at this time. <br />o <br />112Package B –Skating Center Repairs <br />113Turns out, this was an odd package that combined painting work, rebuild of the <br />o <br />114signature arch and addressing the banquet facility north entrance. No proposals <br />115were received. Staff are working to collect separate quotes for the work. Details <br />116should be worked out in the coming weeks. This package is not going to the <br />th <br />117Council on May 12. <br />118Package C –Harriett Alexander Nature Center <br />119Project includes upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems as well as repairs <br />o <br />120and improvements to building exterior and interior spaces. (Boardwalk is also being <br />121replaced, this is part of package D). Staff and contractors are working on the timing <br />122of projects so as not to impact programs and events. Outside work will be done in <br />123the spring with interior work taking place fall and early winter. Staff will also be <br />124working with Blue Rhino’s creative team to include the FORParks/FORHANC <br />125display additions during the interior work timeframe. <br />126Package D –Bridges & Boardwalk <br />127Includes 3 bridges in Villa Park and the Nature Center Boardwalk. <br />o <br />128Package E –Lighting <br />129Includes Rink, court and Lake Bennett Pedestrian Lighting. <br />o <br />130Package F –Court Resurfacing & Reconstruction <br />131Designated Tennis and Basketball Courts will be worked on. The recommended <br />o <br />132proposal includes a value added component that leaves the milled surface in place <br />133for the overlay. This process has proven to help minimize court cracking. <br />134Package G –Field Improvements <br />135Includes work at the Legion Field, Evergreen Fields and Victoria Ballfields <br />o <br />136Package H –Irrigation <br />137Projects will involve upgrading to a 2-wire system that will allow for staff to <br />o <br />138remotely operate the system. Additional irrigation will be added to Autumn Grove <br />139Park to support heavy field use by youth recreation programs. <br />140Package I –Natural Resources <br />141The Natural Resource package includes both core projects and other projects. It is <br />o <br />142the intent of the accepted proposal to be able to address all using the Renewal <br />143Program budget and outside grants. Simply put the natural Resource package <br />144removes invasives and restores these areas. The package includes a specific <br />145maintenance agreement that will allow staff to develop a solid future program for <br />146maintenance. The program also includes educational signage and the managed use <br />147of volunteers to complete projects. The Natural Resource program will touch nearly <br />148all areas of the City (22 of 30 parks). <br />149Package J –Disc Golf Improvements <br />150Work includes assessing design and performing improvements throughout the <br />o <br />151course. <br />152Package K1 –County Rd B2and Victoria Pathway. <br /> <br />
