Holter, 2507 W. County Rd. C2, and his
opposition to the proposed commerolal development at the SW corner of HIghway 88
and County Rd. C2 (Planning File #2739 - John Allen). I agree wholeheartedly with
Mr. Holter that this development would be detrimental to the neighborhood In many
respects.

This proposed commercial development has the potential to increase local traffic
(speeding traffio on Old Highway 81a already a problem I have discussed several times
with city offloials), reduce property values, and provide an unsIghtly facility in the
Immediate view of many homeowners. In short, it would simply be incompatible with
the neIghborhood.

It Is puzzling to me why the city would permit several new homes to be recently
conatructed In th~ vicInity of Old Highway 8 and County Road C2 and then consider
allowing a commercial development In the Immediate vicinity. I strongly feel that
commercial development should be kept east of Highway as. where much already
exists. The City of Roa8vllle should do all It can to preserve, not detract from, its
neighborhoods, as neighborhoods are the real attraction and strength of any cIty.

I therefore urge the Planning Commission not to approve this development. To
approve this proposal would be an injustice to the homeowners in the Immediate
vicinity of 1he project, and would represent to me a lack of city support for its
neighborhoods.

>'
"

Sincerely.

1lilroJ p {){jJ

Michael P.
