With the necessary ground space for the tower and equipment and adding a buffer
zone the tower would require the following ground space:
Scenario A - ~ 576 square feet
Scenario B - ~ 750 square feet
Scenario C - ~ 1,368 square feet
Scenario C is really the one to plan for and to understand fully prior to making a
recommendation.
Please be prepared to discuss the merits of this proposal, both pro and con and make a
recommendation.
Currently, Clearwire Communications is the only provider indicating an interest in locating at
this site.
In your packet is a photo simulation showing the proposed communication pole in Acorn Park.
The elevation view is looking southeast from the west parking lot across the baseball field and
hockey rink.
The simulation shows a full antenna array on the pole. Clearwire's equipment is about half the
size.
The pedestrian view shows the placement of the pole relative to the Clearwire cabinet. In the
proposal that would use the natural screening of the existing trees and ground shrubbery.
There will be a representative from Clearwire Communication and from the City IT department
at your meeting.
Requested Commission Action:
Hear proposal from Clearwire Communications and the City
IT Department, discuss the pros and cons of the proposal and make a recommendation.
4. Review Annual Calendar
Included in your packet is an annual calendar in an effort to pre-plan your year of meetings.
Please plan to compare with your schedules and discuss in more detail at the meeting.
Requested Commission Action
: Review, discuss and finalize annual calendar.
5. February Retreat Discussion
This item is a follow up to the discussion you had last month. Enclosed is a possible agenda
with items of interest that you mentioned. Another possible item could be a listening session
with the Design Team for the Master Planning process.
thth
You had identified Saturday, February 13 or February 20 as good dates; this would replace
nd
your regularly scheduled Tuesday, February 2 Meeting.
Please be prepared to discuss additional or modified agenda items, format and additional
information that commissioners would like from staff prior to or at the meeting.
As a reminder for consideration, there will be two new commissioners coming on board soon.
Requested Commission Action:
Finalize retreat day/date/time and agenda.
