Introductions/Public Comment Invited <br />Commissioners and staff will be introduced. Public participation and public comment is <br />encouraged. <br />2. Approval of Minutes of the April 6, 2010 Meeting <br />Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of April 6, 2010. Please be prepared to approve or amend. <br />Requested Commission Action <br />: Approve/amend minutes of the meeting of April 6, 2010. <br />Discuss and Prepare for the Joint Commission/City Council Meeting <br />3. <br />The annual joint meeting of the City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission will be <br />held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at the City Council regular meeting. It will most likely be the <br />first item on the agenda at around 6:00 or 6:30 p.m for 30-40 minutes. It is important that a <br />realistic agenda be set and that there be full attendance. This is your meeting with the City <br />Council to discuss areas of importance to you and to gather guidance from them. <br />For your information I have included the final topic memo from the previous 3 years sent to the <br />City Manager and City Council prior to the meeting to allow them time to think about the topics. <br />We would like to do something simlar to allow for preparation and make best use of the time. <br />Please be prepared to identiy the topics of interest to you that you would like to have a <br />th <br />conversation with the City Council about. Please mark your calendars for Monday, June 7. <br /> Requested Commission Action <br />: Discuss agenda topics and approach for joint meeting. <br />4. Forestry Ordinance Discussion <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission is the City Official Tree Board. Included in your packet <br />is a copy of the current Forestation Control Ordinance. It is in need of updating and was part of <br />a plan submitted in the Emerald Ash Borer grant. Updating will reflect the Emerald Ash Borer, <br />other forestation pests and be appropriate with current resources. At this point, this is meant to <br />give you a brief background so you can begin to familiarize yourself with current language and <br />be prepared, as citizens, to offer input and suggestions as the ordinance gets updated. Staff <br />will be working on some suggested adjustments and bring them back to you for review and <br />advice along the way. <br /> Requested Commission Action: <br />Discuss and provide feedback <br />5. Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update <br />The Parks and Recreation Master Plan process continues. Commission members that are on <br />the Citizen Advisory Team (CAT) and staff will be prepared to give you an update on the <br />progress. <br /> <br />
