SectionA:Personnel <br />SectionB:ProjectApproach;OverviewandWorkPlan <br />ParksandRecreationSystemMasterPlanUpdate <br />CityofRoseville,Minnesota <br />willintensivesessions(thatis,morethanaoneortwohourmeeting).Thefirstsuchsession <br />wouldbedirectedtowardexploringthechangingparkneedsofthecommunityandimagining <br />howtheparksmightfitintoanevolvingRoseville.Afollowupsessionwouldfocusonconcrete <br />ideasabouthowtheparkscanrespondtothatevolutionintermsoffacilitydevelopment, <br />programming,andotherchanges.Thisapproachoffersthechancetodirectlyengagethe <br />PARMPUTinaccomplishingrealwork,toresolvedirectionsearly(ortoidentifyareaswhere <br />moreintensivestudymayberequired),and,mostimportantly,toestablisharealdialogabout <br />thecriticalissuesandopportunitiesthatinfluencewƚƭĻǝźƌƌĻ͸ƭparkandrecreationsystem. <br />AǝźƭźƚƓΓƷŷĻfocusofParthƓĻΓźƭoftendefinedbywordsalone.Awellcraftednarrativecan <br />becompelling,evocative,andinspiring,butwordsreinforcedbyillustrationsgivepeoplereal <br />mightbe.Ourrealchallengeinthisstageoftheworkisto <br />insightsaboutwhattheirfutureparks <br />framethevisionwithwordsandpicturesthatpeoplebelieveinandwanttohelpachieve. <br />StageTwoTasks <br />2.01ConductCommunityMeeting1toidentifythepriorityissuestobedealtwithduringthe <br />parkmasterplanningprocess.Wewillshareinformationaboutthekindofcommunity <br />Rosevilleistoday,basedondemographicinformationcollectedearlier,aswellasthe <br />kindofplaceitwillbecomeassumingthatcertaintrendscontinue.Thereisabitof <br />ͻŅǒƷǒƩźƓŭͼinthisdescription,butǞĻ͸ǝĻfoundithelpfultoofferthisinformationasthe <br />communitybeginstoshapeavisionforitsfuture.Thefocusofthissessionwillbe <br />źƭƭǒĻƭΓŅğĭƷƚƩƭandinfluences(positiveandnegative)thatareshapingtheĭƚƒƒǒƓźƷǤ͸ƭ <br />parksystem,andźķĻğƭΓƦƚƭƭźĬźƌźƷźĻƭforenhancingtheparksystemorthewayit <br />functions.Thisworkshop,likeothersduringthemasterplanningprocess,willbe <br />focusedoninteractionswithparticipantsthroughacombinationoflargeandsmall <br />groupdiscussions,alongwithreportingoffindingsbythegroups.Aswebecomemore <br />familiarwiththecommunityandthedesiresofthePARMPUT,wewillframeamore <br />detailedagendaandreviewthekindsofquestionsthatwewouldaskofparticipants <br />withthePARMPUT.Finally,wewouldsummarizetheinputprovidedduringthis <br />meeting. <br />2.02Conductinterviewsinanefforttobetterunderstandtheconditions,issues,and <br />opportunitiesfacingwƚƭĻǝźƌƌĻ͸ƭparksystemfromtheperspectiveofkeystakeholder <br />groups.Wewillconductinterviewsontwodayswithindividuals,groups,oragencies <br />definedbythecity(assumingthelistoftwentygroupsidentifiedintheRFPasthe <br />startingpoint).InterviewswillbesummarizedforusebythePARMPUT.Staffwill <br />participateininterviews. <br />page10 <br /> <br />
