Introductions/Public Comment Invited <br />Commissioners and staff will be introduced. Public participation and public comment is <br />encouraged. <br />2. Introduce Youth Commissioner <br />th <br />On Monday July 27 the City Council appointed Julia Jacobson as a youth representative to the <br />Parks and Recreation Commission. CONGRATULATIONS! Julia will be introduced and will be <br />given an opportunity to provide a brief background. <br />Requested Commission Action <br />: Welcome and congratulate Julia <br />3. Approval of Minutes of the June 9, 2009 Meeting <br />Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of June 9, 2009. Please be prepared to approve or amend. <br />Requested Commission Action <br />: Approve/amend minutes of the meeting of June 9, 2009. <br />Parks and Recreation System Master Plan Update <br />4. <br />On June 13, 2009 the City Council approved entering into an agreement with LHB/Cornejo <br />Consulting (LHB) for the process of updating the Parks and Recreation System Master Plan and <br />appointed Councilmember Dan Roe to serve on a Citizen Advisory Team. It is anticipated that in <br />addition to Chair Bob Willmus, there will be two Parks and Recreation Commission members to <br />serve with the group. Please be prepared to recommend two members at your meeting. <br />LHB will be present at the meeting to be introduced and will communicate work that has been <br />done thus far and will be looking for your feedback. Included in your packet is the LHB team <br />profile, work plan approach, outline of workbook information, advisory team structure and meeting <br />outline. <br />One of the first steps to get going is to assemble the citizen advisory team. Included in your <br />packet is a news release advertising for interested folks to apply and an application. Please pass <br />this around to people you know who would be interested. The first meeting is scheduled for the <br />th <br />second week in September, looking at Thursday September 10. <br />Requested Commission Action <br />: Meet LHB, provide feedback into what has been done thus far <br />Emerald Ash Borer Review and Discussion <br />5. <br />Currently there have not been any confirmed cases of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Roseville, but <br />there have been a few in St. Paul. Staff is continuing to work with and gather information from <br />State Departments and other agencies. Included in your packet is a metropolitan area survey and <br />an article form the League of Minnesota Cities outlining recommended first steps for cities. <br />Roseville is essentially following this recommendation. Staff will be looking to the Commission for <br />advice as we move forward. <br />Commission member Jim Stark has asked Bob Guthrie, a resident who has been studying EAB, <br />to attend the meeting to provide a brief presentation and discussion. <br />Requested Commission Action <br />: Hear presentation and provide discussion <br /> <br />
