First is the residential rate and the second is <br />the commercial/industrial rate. This memo addresses the residential rate only. <br />The Park Dedication ordinance was first enacted in 1989 with a residential rate of <br />$500 per unit. The rate remained there until 2003 when the rate was increased to <br />$1000 per unit, still remaining at the bottom of the list of comparable communities. <br />Park Dedication is an impact fee that is created by the increased use of the <br />Parks and Recreation System and something that the City relies on for <br />acquisitions, enhancements and upgrades. The monies are placed in a restricted <br />Park Dedication Fund and cannot be used for maintenance. <br />Per ordinance each Park Dedication related item is reviewed by the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission. The fees are set annually by the City Council by <br />resolution. <br />
