We have enjoyed working with you on Past projects such <br />as the 2002 Roseville Parks.Natural Resource Management Plan. This is truly an exiting <br />opportunity and we look forward to working with you in the future! <br />Project Understandin <br />The City of Roseville is an ever growing and developing community. Within this community <br />lies a significant resource of wildlife habitat, scenic views, and educational opportunities. This <br />resource is maintained and supported by the Harriet Alexander Nature Center (1IANC). The <br />Naturc Center provides the opportunity to experience, study and enjoy the natural world. It is <br />host to many educational programs and recreational activities. Friends ofRoseville's Harriet <br />Alexander Nature Center (FORHANC) is an independent nonprofit organization which was <br />created to suppoil and fund the operations of the Nature Center. A Board of Directors oversees <br />the Nature Center activities and participates in decision making processes. Recently, the City <br />recognized the need for a comprehensive master plan for the Nature Center and surrounding <br />area, as well as the need to improve the ecological and habitat function of the Nature Center. <br />Preliminary Goals <br />In planning for the development and improvements ofHANC, the City is seeking a participatory <br />and well documented master planning process that reflects the vision of the project stakeholders <br />and makes the most of the unique opportunities provided by this site. The ultimate master plan <br />should provide a healthy balance of outdoor recreation opportunities, educational programming, <br />and natural resource preservation and enhancement. <br />Educational Programs and Facilities <br />Currently, IIANC is host to a variety of seasonal children outreach programs. The Center is <br />working with one neighboring school adjacent to the site. There is a great opportunity to expand <br />the Nature Center's outreach to multiple surrounding schools and to include community adult <br />St. Paul, 5t.
