Below, in no particular order are a few updates involving Parks and Recreation: <br />Roseville Skating Center Construction Project <br />The project includes the restroom modification/addition near the banquet rooms and the south <br />entryway mod ificationladdition. The restroom project is well underway and is moving right along <br />and scheduled to be completed by the mid May time frame and in time for a booked wedding. The <br />south entryway improvement is expected to begin shortly with the target completion date set for <br />the end of September. I will keep you posted. <br />Geothermal Technology Consultant Interviews <br />Consultant interviews for the geothermal technology at the Skating Center are being conducted <br />this week. Five consultants submitted a proposal and all of them are being interviewed. It is <br />anticipated that soon, possibly May 71h, staff will be having a discussion with the City Council. <br />Interesting news from Rochester attached. <br />Dale Street Athletic Field Fencing Project <br />This is an approved Park Improvement Project (PIP) for 2007. It is a shared funding project where <br />the North Suburban Youth Association has committed $50,000, the Roseville Central Park <br />Foundation $5000 and the Roseville Area Youth Football Association another $13,000 for a total <br />of $68,000. We are anticipating that the project could cost as much as $100,000 with the <br />remaining amount budgeted in the 2007 PIP. <br />If you recall the specifics of the project, it is to install fencing around both of the "multi purpose" <br />athletic fields in Central Park off Dale Street. Staff is in the process of working with the affiliated <br />group, the funding parties and Park and Recreation offerings to find the best time to do the <br />project. It is anticipated that sometime this year you will be seeing the fences go up. <br />Harriet Alexander Nature Center Planning Committee <br />The Harriet Alexander Nature Center Planning Committee has its first meeting on Thursday <br />April 26th at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. The agenda, meeting notes, <br />participants, and all the background information will be posted on the Parks and Recreation <br />Harriet Alexander Nature Center web site. <br />United Properties Proposal at 2700 Cleveland Avenue Near Langton Lake Park <br />Attached is an e-mail I received from Rick Jolly (I will be responding and communicating back to <br />Rick), a neighbor near Langton Lake Park. <br />
