Golf Course Goose Control Usina Border Collies
Over the years many goose control methods, with limited success, have been
attempted at the golf course, i.e. removal, physical barriers, ribbon, chasing,
coyote cutouts, dogs, etc.. This year we have had demonstrations on the use of
the Border Collie breed, which by instinct are herders and simply herd and chase
the geese away. To test the effectiveness we are considering contracting with a
handier and a Border Collie this year. The program is anticipated being done in
June for about a month and then again in September for another month.
Geothermal Technology Progress
On May 21, 2007 the City Council approved an agreement with Geo-Xergy to
conduct a feasibility study of the Skating Center and the City Hall Campus as it
relates to the Geothermal Technology. We will plan to report progress to you 21
we proceed.
