i - o rof"f& ' 4f f E rKm-,mo Community Development De1 i Memo To: Lonnie Brokke, Parks and Recreation Director From: Jamie Radel, Community Development Date: August 31, 2007 Re: Comprehensive Plan Steering Connnittee Member On September 27, 2007, the Roseville City Council passed a motion allowing staff to move forward with the creation of a steering committee for the upcoming update of the City's Comprehensive Plan. The membership of this committee includes representatives from several of the City's advisory commissions, including the Parrs and Recreation Commission. As such, we are asking that you discuss with this commission who would be interested in serving on the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee representative from the Parks and Recreation Commission will be asked to serve as a liaison between the commission and the steering committee. It is anticipated that the Steering Committee will have at monthly evening meeting, beginning in September and running through the summer of 2008. Members will help to ensure that the proposed comprehensive plan changes fit the needs of the community. They will help guide the comprehensive plan updating process and be a sounding board for the consultant team. The Steering Committee will act in an advisory capacity to the City Council, which is the ultimate decision snaking body regarding city policy.
