9, HANC PLANNING COMMITTEE UPDATE <br />Brodt Lenz updated the Commission. on recent IANC Plan -ming Committee meetings. The Planning <br />Committee has been involved in. a number of interesting and revealing exercises exploring how the Nature <br />Center might function best. Reoccurring themes have surfaced through many of the discussions. The <br />Committee continues to meet monthly and looks to have a draft report near the end of the year. <br />10. CHANGE NOVEMBER MEETING DATE <br />Motion by Pederson to designate November 7 as the alternative Commission meeting date due to elections <br />being held on November 6"'. Second by Ristow. Passed unanimously. <br />11. DISCUSS JANUARY MEETING DATE <br />Discussion tabled to a future meeting <br />12. DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br />o Distributed Commission Handbook from Bill Malinen <br />o Distributed Shade Tree Advocate materials <br />o Imagine Roseville 2025 Update <br />Council is working to recap the process and narrow down the areas of interest in focus area. Staff have <br />been asked to provide additional feedback for the focus areas. <br />o 2008 Budget — Administration is looking to identify reasonable and practical items from IR 2025 to include <br />in the budget <br />o Geothen»al Arena Project — Project consultant is scheduled to report their findings to the Council on <br />October 8. The upcoming timeframe includes a target date of October 15 for direction as to whether the <br />best option is to continue down the geothermal path or to go with traditional standards and practices. <br />o Dale Street Athletic Field Project — work has been affected by the weather but should be completed soon. <br />o North Suburban St. Paul Kiwanis have begun to work with the Central Park Foundation on an addition at <br />the Arboretum. <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pin <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Jill Anfang, Assistant Director <br />
