Chad will generally
review the survey information with you.
Requested Commissioner Action: Discussion, comments and make a recommendation.
5. KIWANIS PARTNERSHIP AT THE MURIEL SAHLIN ARBORETUM
The North Suburban Kiwanis Club has approached Parks and Recreation and the Roseville
Central Park Foundation interested in contributing to a project in the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum.
Specifically, the Master Plan includes a pergola, similar to the front entryway, just to the south
of the fountain and near the proposed theme garden area. The project is anticipated to cost
near $29,000 and the Kiwanis is interested in completing the project in 2008 in celebration of
their anniversary. The pergola would be named the "Kiwanis" pergola. The project would be
funded through an agreement with the Central Park Foundation as the fiscal agent and the
North Suburban Kiwanis Club. Maintenance of the pergola would be minimal and would
primarily entail periodic painting and any unforeseen repairs? Staff is recommending that the
City continue to pursue this project to further the arboretum master plan efforts. Included in
your packet is a copy of the master plan indicating the location of the proposed pergola. Staff
will review the proposal with you in further detail at the meeting.
Requested Commissioner Action: Discussion, comments and make a recommendation.
