HANC PLANNING COMMITTEE UPDATE <br />9. <br /> <br />Brodt Lenz updated the Commission on recent HANC Planning Committee meetings. The Planning <br />Committee has been involved in a number of interesting and revealing exercises exploring how the Nature <br />Center might function best. Reoccurring themes have surfaced through many of the discussions. The <br />Committee continues to meet monthly and looks to have a draft report near the end of the year. <br /> <br /> CHANGE NOVEMBER MEETING DATE <br />10. <br />Motion by Pederson to designate November 7 as the alternative Commission meeting date due to elections <br />th <br />being held on November 6. Second by Ristow. Passed unanimously. <br /> <br /> DISCUSS JANUARY MEETING DATE <br />11. <br />Discussion tabled to a future meeting <br /> <br /> DIRECTOR’S REPORT <br />12. <br /> <br />Distributed Commission Handbook from Bill Malinen <br />o <br /> <br />Distributed Shade Tree Advocate materials <br />o <br /> <br />Imagine Roseville 2025 Update <br />o <br />Council is working to recap the process and narrow down the areas of interest in focus area. Staff have <br />been asked to provide additional feedback for the focus areas. <br /> <br />2008 Budget – Administration is looking to identify reasonable and practical items from IR 2025 to include <br />o <br />in the budget <br /> <br />Geothermal Arena Project – Project consultant is scheduled to report their findings to the Council on <br />o <br />October 8. The upcoming timeframe includes a target date of October 15 for direction as to whether the <br />best option is to continue down the geothermal path or to go with traditional standards and practices. <br /> <br />Dale Street Athletic Field Project – work has been affected by the weather but should be completed soon. <br />o <br /> <br />North Suburban St. Paul Kiwanis have begun to work with the Central Park Foundation on an addition at <br />o <br />the Arboretum. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Jill Anfang, Assistant Director <br />
