Hugo and Marie Blomgren request for a minor variance at 1805 Roselawn Avenue. Variance Request Requirement Variance Proposal 5 foot sideyard setback 8 inch sideyard setback 4 foot 4 inch variance Background 1. The property under consideration at 1805 Roselawn Avenue is zoned R-l Single Family. The Blomgren's purchased this property in 1954 and as their narrative indicates, thought they had purchased enough property to have a 4 foot sideyard setback for the garage and driveway. The survey work done for the recent platting of the Seidenkranz property immediately east of the Blomgren's indicated that this was not the case and that there was only 8 inches between the property line and the garage. It is the Blomgren's hope that the garage can remain where it is and therefore, are requesting a 4 foot 4 inch sideyard setback variance. 2. The Minor Variance Committee has reviewed this request and unanimously recommended approval of a 4 foot 4 inch sideyard setback variance at 1805 Roselawn Avenue. It was the Committee's belief that moving the existing garage would not be feasible. Mr. Blomgren has indicated that he will move his driveway so that it is no closer to the property line than the garage. . 3. The Council, at the request of the applicant, continued this item pending further information tfom the owner and the adjoining property owner regarding permission for maintenance of the existing garage which is set within 8 inches of the property line. 4. All affected adjacent property owners have been notified and have given their written consent for the proposed variance request. See attachments tfom adjoining property owners.
