REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION <br />Date: 7-28-14 <br />Item No: 9b. <br />Staff Approval: Agenda Section: <br /> Action Item <br />Item Description: Authorize participation agreement for SalesForce.com with Greater <br />MSP. <br />Requested Action <br />1 <br />2 <br />3Authorize staff to enter into participation agreement for database Salesforce.com with Greater MSP. <br />4 <br />Background <br />5 <br />6The RHRA adopted at their April 15, 2014, meeting the summary report of the Business Retention <br />7and Enhancement (BR&E) project, which recommended these three strategies: <br />81.Enhance, Promote & Develop the Roseville Business Environment <br />92.Create Identity, Community & Networking for Roseville Businesses <br />103.Develop Roseville’s Workforce and Connect Businesses to Qualified Workers <br />11 <br />Staff Recommendation <br />12 <br />13 <br />14To accomplish the above strategies efficiently, staff would like to use a database to track interactions <br />15with Roseville businesses. The advantage of Salesforce.com is that it allows us to maintain private <br />16information about Roseville businesses but also allows us to see information about visits to <br />17Roseville businesses made by other governmental organizations or Greater MSP. Salesforce.com <br />18also works as a task manager for staff to use when scheduling site visits. Staff have reviewed <br />19several options for a database and believe that Salesforce.com is the most cost effective resource for <br />20this purpose. <br />21The cost for use of the web-based application is $400 a year.
