Ms. Pittroff is seeking a conditional use permit to operate a one employee cosmetology <br />salon in her home at 1655 Stanbridge Avenue. Following notification of the hearing, a <br />number of neighbors have contacted City Hall. Of those who called, the majority were <br />either in favor of the proposed use or did not have any concerns about it. Three of the <br />callers did express concerns, however, and one neighbor has written a letter which is <br />enclosed in your background report. Based on the limited scale of Ms. PittrofI's proposed <br />operation, together with the indicated support of a number of her neighbors, staff <br />recommends approval of Stacey PittrofI's request for a conditional use permit for a <br />cosmetology salon in her home at 1655 Stanbridge Avenue subject to the conditions listed <br />above. <br /> <br />Council Action Reauested: <br /> <br />1. Motion to approve Stacey Jean PittrofI's request for a conditional use permit request to <br />operate a cosmetology business from her home at 1655 Stanbridge Avenue and to approve <br />a resolution (attached) with the following conditions: <br /> <br />a. The hours of operation shall be 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. <br />b. Stipulating that there shall be no more than two client cars at a time and that those <br />cars must be parked off street. <br />c. That the conditional use permit is issued to the applicant only and shall <br />automatically expire upon the sale of the property. <br />d. That there shall be no product sales on the site except sale of products to <br />individuals at the time the service is rendered if appropriate. <br />e. That there shall be no other employees providing service and that the business shall <br />not occupy more than one room of the house. <br />f That the structure must meet life safety exiting criteria of the City Codes. <br />g. That the non-lighted sign be no more than 3 square feet. <br />h. That non-compliance by the applicant with any of the conditions, can be grounds <br />for immediate revocation of the conditional use permit. <br />I.
