<br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 9 <br /> <br />CONTROL OF WORK AND MATERIAL <br /> <br />. 9.1 - SEPARATE CONTRACTS <br /> <br />The owner may perform additional work related to the project by <br />himself, or he may let other contracts in connection with. this <br />work. The Contractor shall allow other contractors reasonable <br />opportunity for the introduction and storage of their materials <br />and the execution of their work and shall coordinate his work <br />with theirs. <br /> <br />I <br />j <br />J <br />J <br />J <br />j <br />J <br />.1 <br />J <br />J <br />l <br />1 <br />1 <br />J <br /> <br />The Contractor will confine his operations, including his equipment <br />storage of materials and equipment, and his workmen to the public <br />right of way and the lands furnished by the Owner. <br /> <br /> <br />9.2 - USE OF PREMISES <br /> <br />The Contractor will provide, at his own expense and without liability <br />to the Owner, any additional land and access thereto that he may <br />require for storage of materials or any other temporary part of his <br />operation. <br /> <br />9.3 - ACCESS TO WORK; UNCOVER FINISHED WORK <br /> <br />The Engineer and his representatives, the City's representatives, <br />and other representatives of the Owner will at all times have access <br />to the work. The Contractor will provide proper facilities for such <br />access and observation of the work and also for any inspection, or <br />testing thereof by others. <br /> <br /> <br />If any work is covered contrary to the request of the Engineer, it <br />must, if requested by the Engineer, be uncovered for his inspection <br />and replaced at the Contractor's expense. <br /> <br />.9.4 ENGINEERS STATUS <br /> <br />The Engineer shall be the Owner's representative during the <br />construction period. All instructions of the Owner to the Contractor <br />shall be issued through the Engineer. The duties and responsibilities <br />and the limitations of authority of the Engineer as the Owner's <br />representative during construction are set forth in these General <br />Conditions and shalL not be extended without written consent of the <br />Owner and the Engineer. <br /> <br />The Engineer will make periodic visits to the site to observe the <br />progress and quality of the executed work and to determine,in general, <br />if the work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents. <br />He will not be required to make exhaustive or continuous on-site <br />inspections to check the quality' or quantity of the work. The Engineer <br />will not be responsible for the construction means, methods, techniques, <br />sequences or procedures, or the saftey precautions incident thereto. <br /> <br />GC-9 <br /> <br />
