<br />(4) All gate valves l2-inches or larger in size shall be of the non-rising stem type <br />equipped with approved barrel type rugged gate position indicators. <br /> <br />(5) All gears on gate valves shall be cut tooth steel gears, housed in heavy cast iron <br />extended type grease cases of approved design. <br /> <br />(6) The valve interior shall have a two part thermosetting epoxy approved for potable <br />water. <br /> <br />(7) All gate valves shall have mechanical joint ends. <br /> <br />(8) An open indicating arrow, the manufacturer's name, pressure rating and year of <br />manufacture shall be cast on the body of all valves. <br /> <br />.(9) Upon request, three certified copies of the performance tests complying with <br />Section 25 of A WW A C500 shall be submitted to the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />302.202 BUTTERFLY VALVES <br /> <br />Butterfly valves shall meet the requirements of A WW A Standard C504 and shall be <br />designed for 150 p.s.i. working pressure. The butterfly valves shall be short body with <br />mechanical joint ends, cast or ductile iron body and disc, a non-rising operating stem <br />with "0" ring seals, a two inch (2") square operating nut and shall open !!left!!. An open <br />indicating arrow, the manufacturer's name, pressure rating and year of manufacture shall <br />be cast on the body ofthe valve. . <br /> <br /> <br />302.203 VALVE BOXES <br /> <br />All valves smaller than 12 inches in diameter are to be provided with vertical valve <br />boxes. <br /> <br />Valve boxes shall be cast iron, buffalo-type adjustable. Valve boxes shall be provided <br />for 71/2 feet of cover, except where greater depths are indicated on the profiles of the <br />plans. <br /> <br />Valve boxes shall be at least 3 pieces with sufficient adjustment to provide at least 6" of <br />_ adjustment above and below grade. Adjustments for depths greater than 6" shall be <br />incidental and no payment made therefore. <br /> <br />302.204 CORPORATION STOPS <br /> <br />Corporation stop shall be Mueller # 15000 or approved equal, threaded to meet <br />requirements of A WW ~ Standard C800 for use with the copper service pipe required. <br /> <br />302.205 CURB STOPS AND BOXES <br /> <br />300-4 <br />
