I 303.0 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS 303.1 INSPECTION AND RESPONSffiILITY OF MATERIALS During the process of unloading, all pipe and accessories shall be inspected by the CONTRACTOR for damage. The CONTRACTOR shall notify the ENGINEER of all material found that has cracks, flaws or other defects. The ENGINEER shall inspect the damaged material and have the right to reject any materials he finds unsatisfactory. The CONTRACTOR shall promptly remove all rejected "material from the site. Pipe and other accessories shall, unless otherwise directed by the ENGINEER, be unloaded at the point of delivery, hauled to and distrib~t~d at the site of the project by the CONTRACTOR. They shall at all times be handled with care to avoid damage. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for all material furnished by him and he shall replace at his oWn expense all such mat~rial that is found to be defective in manufacture or that has become damaged in handling after delivery by the manufacturer. This shall include the furnishing of all material and labor required for the replacement of installed material discovered defective prior to the final acceptance of the work. The CONTRACTOR'S responsibility for material furnished by the OWNER shall begin at the point of delivery by the manufacturer, or OWNER, and upon acceptance of the" material by the CONTRACTOR. The CONTRACTOR shall examine all material furnished by the OWNER at the time and place of delivery, and " shall reject all defective material. The point ofd~livery shall be stated in the "Special Conditions", Section 100. Any material furnished by the OWNER that becomes damaged after acceptance by the CONTRACTOR, shall be replaced by the CONTRACTOR at his own expense. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the safe storage of material furnished by or to him, and accepted by him, and intended for the work until it has been incorporated in the completed projec~. 303.200 REMOVALS.
