<br />j <br />1 <br />1 <br />I <br />I <br />" j <br />j <br />J <br />J <br />J <br />j <br />J <br />J <br />.J <br />J <br />J <br />J <br />J <br /> <br />Hydrants shall have 6 inch mechanical joint hub, 5" valve opening, 5" barrel and shall <br />have 8 foot bury unless ~therwise noted on plans. <br /> <br />302.700 GRANULAR MATERIALS <br /> <br />Granular materials furnished for foundation, bedding, backfill, or other purposes as may <br />be specified shall consist of any natural or synthetic mineral aggregate such as sand, <br /> <br />gravel, crushed rock, crushed stone, or slag, that shall be so graded as to meet the <br />gradation requirements specified in Section 600.0 Trench Excavation and Backfill. <br />I <br /> <br />303.0 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />303.1 INSPECTION AND RESPONSffiILITY OF MATERIALS <br /> <br />During the process of unloading, all pipe and accessories shall be inspected by the <br />CONTRACTOR for damage. The CONTRACTOR shall notify the ENGINEER of all <br />material found that has cracks, flaws or other defects. The ENGINEER shall inspect the <br />damaged material and have the right to reject any materials he finds unsatisfactory. The <br />CONTRACTOR shall promptly remove all rejected "material from the site. <br /> <br />Pipe and other accessories shall, unless otherwise directed by the ENGINEER, be <br />unloaded at the point of delivery, hauled to and distrib~t~d at the site of the project by <br />the CONTRACTOR. They shall at all times be handled with care to avoid damage. <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for all material furnished by him and he shall <br />replace at his oWn expense all such mat~rial that is found to be defective in manufacture <br />or that has become damaged in handling after delivery by the manufacturer. This shall <br />include the furnishing of all material and labor required for the replacement of installed <br />material discovered defective prior to the final acceptance of the work. <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR'S responsibility for material furnished by the OWNER shall begin <br />at the point of delivery by the manufacturer, or OWNER, and upon acceptance of the" <br />material by the CONTRACTOR. The CONTRACTOR shall examine all material <br />furnished by the OWNER at the time and place of delivery, and " shall reject all defective <br />material. The point ofd~livery shall be stated in the "Special Conditions", Section 100. <br /> <br />Any material furnished by the OWNER that becomes damaged after acceptance by the <br />CONTRACTOR, shall be replaced by the CONTRACTOR at his own expense. <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the safe storage of material furnished by or <br />to him, and accepted by him, and intended for the work until it has been incorporated in <br />the completed projec~. <br /> <br />303.200 REMOVALS.
