<br />(1) The bottom of the watermaiil is at least 18 inches above the top of the sewer; <br /> <br />(2) Where this vertical separation cannot be obtained, the sewer shall be construction <br />of materials and with joints that are equivalent to watermain standards of <br />construction and shall be pressure tested to assure water tightness prior to <br />backfilling. <br /> <br />No valve or other control on the existing system shall be operated for any purpose by <br />the CONTRACTOR without approval by the ENGINEER, and all consumers affected <br />by such operation shall be notified by the OWNER at least one hour before the <br />operation and be advised of the probable time when service shall be restored. <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR shall give the Water Department one day notiCe when it is <br />necessary to take a watermain out of service. Disruption of service shall be during the <br />time of day when the least inconvenience will be caused to the customer. <br /> <br />Where pipe cannot be placed by open trench excavation, the method for placing and <br />payment therefore shall be stated in the "Special Conditions", Section 100. <br /> <br />303.4 WATER SERVICE PJPES AND TAPPING INTO THE WATERMAIN <br /> <br />303.401 WATER SERVICE PIPES LESS THAN 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER <br /> <br />.j <br /> <br />Copper service lines shall be installed continuous without joints between the corporation <br />and curb stop with about one foot of slack at the corporation stop to allow for <br />settlement and service line movement. <br /> <br />In general, water services shall have a 7 1/2 foot bwy with the exception of those <br />locations in which confUct may occur with storm sewer. In these cases the water service <br />shall be constructed below the storm sewer to permit three feet between storm sewer <br />invert and water service. <br /> <br />Water Services shall be located at least ten feet (10') horizontally trom sewer services <br />(unless C.I.S.P. or PVC, Class 150 pipe, is used for the sewer service). <br /> <br />Tbe water services shall be one inch in size unless otherwise noted and shall extend trom <br />the main to the property line where they will terminate in a curb box. Curb box shall be <br />set to proposed finished elevation and allow 1/2 the adjustable limit either up or down <br />on stand pipe. .. . <br /> <br />303.402 WATER SERVICE PIPES 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER OR LARGER <br /> <br />Water service pipes 3 iI!ches in diameter or larger shall meet the requirements specified <br />in Section 303.2 and sbjill terminate at the property line with a valve. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />303.403 TAPPING SERVICES INTO WATERMAIN <br /> <br />300-10 <br />
