All openings along the line of Stonn <br />Sewer shall be' securely closed, as directed, and at the suspension of work at any time, <br />suitable stoppers shall be placed to prevent earth or any substance trom entering the <br />storm sewer. Ifwater is present in the trench, the seals shall remain in place until the <br />trench is completely dry, Where pipe cannot be placed by open trench excavation, the <br />method of placing and payment therefore shall be stated in the "Special Conditions" <br />Section 100. <br /> <br />504.0 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND BASIS OF PAYMENT <br /> <br />504.1 PIPE IN PLACE <br /> <br />Pipe shall be measured and laid by the lineal foot for each size and class regardless of the <br />excavation depth. Catch basins will be <br />measured nom flowline of pipe to flowline of casting. <br /> <br />504.3 CASTINGS <br /> <br />Castings shall be measured and paid by the unit price for each type of casting. <br /> <br />504.4 APRONS WITH TRASH GUARDS <br /> <br />Aprons with trash guards shall be measured and paid by the unit for each size. <br /> <br />504.5 INSULATION <br /> <br />Insulation shall be measured and paid by the linear foot in place including all labor and <br />materials necessary. <br /> <br />504.6 BREAK INTO EXISTING MANHOLE <br /> <br />Break into existing manhole shall be measured as a unit and paid for at the Contract Unit. <br />Price. <br /> <br />504.7 REARRANGEMENT OF INPLACE FACILITIES <br /> <br />The removal, relocation, extension, or adjustment of in-place facilities such as hydrants, <br />valves, curb stops, pipe, etc., will be measured, as indicated in the Proposal, by the <br />number of complete units of each item on a lump sum basis or by the number of linear <br />feet of each item such as pipe. <br /> <br />500-5 <br />
