<br />SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />TO THE <br />STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS <br />FOR <br />STREETS IN <br />TSCHIDA OWASSO HILLS PLAT 4 <br /> <br />1. SPECIFICA nONS WHICH APPLY <br /> <br />Specifications which apply to construction of street work as shown in the plans shall be <br />Division II (Construction Details) and Division III (Materials) of the "Standard <br />Specification for Highway Construction", Minnesota Department of Transportation, dated <br />January 1, 1988, and the City of Roseville to the extent that they are modified by these <br />special Provisions. <br /> <br />2. GENERAL <br /> <br />2.1 Protection of Existing Utilities <br /> <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for the protection of and damage to all utilities <br />including, but not limited to public gas mains, telephone lines, cable television, water <br />valve boxes, manholes and catch basins. He shall also be responsible for cleaning, <br />repairing or replacement of same if damaged in this phase of construction. <br /> <br />2.2 Maintenance of Traffic <br /> <br />A. Sufficient flagman and warning signs shall be employed on streets which abut the <br />project area to warn and control traffic during all hauling and construction activity. <br /> <br />B. The Contractor shall maintain all roadways either on or off the project area which <br />are used for haul roads. Such maintenance shall consist of blading and dust control <br />determined necessary by the Engineer in order to keep the roads suitable for <br />automobile traffic and to control dust. The Contractor shall provide a street <br />sweeper to keep the existing adjacent streets clean from mud tracked onto the <br />streets by construction traffic. Street cleaning shall be incidental to the street <br />construction. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br />) <br />
