Specific Details of Ordinance: The proposed ordinance would require the following: 1. A tandscape plan would be required for all new commercial/industrial and multi-family developments. 2. The landscape plan must be prepared by a landscape architect registered and licensed in the State of Minnesota if the construction value is in excess of $500,000. 3. The plan should incorporate existing landscaping to the maximum extent feasible which may be used towards meeting the minimum landscape requirements. 4. The landscape plan shall include size, location, quantity and species of all plant materials and the method of maintenance. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends that this item be approved after the third reading with any additions/corrections by the City Council. Planning Commission Recommendations: The Planning Commission, at the August 14, 1996 meeting, recommended approval of an ordinance amending City Code Chapter 1010.15 to add requirements for professional landscape plans as per the draft ordinance. Suggested Council Action: 1. Reopen continued public hearing and hold third reading. 2.
