Page two

Under our design standards regulations we have the following
provisions:

1010.01 Additional Requirements for All Zoning Districts
Except R-1 and R-2: In addition to other restrictions of this
title and of the building codes that are in force in the City,
the use, construction, alteration or enlargement of any
building or structure within all districts except R-1 and R-2
shall meet standards contained in Sections 1010.01 through
1010.17.

1010.06 Concrete Curbing: The periphery of parking areas and
drives shall be constructed with poured in place concrete
curbing.

There seems to be some ambiguity in deciding whether the
requirement for concrete curbing is required by merely maintaining
a parking area or driveway.

You also called our attention to Roseville City Code Section
1004.01 paragraphs 3(c) and 3(e).

There seems to be some ambiguity of when we do and do not require
the construction of concrete curbs.

I believe the City Council should resolve this by instructing the
staff to look at a possible amendment to the ordinance to clear up
these ambiguities.

You have informed me that Westwood Village is not interested in
doing this actual work until next spring and perhaps the Council
could reconsider this matter prior to that time.

lap
cc: Steve Sarkozy
Steve North
Karl Keel

Very
