Terry Moses, Maple St., stated that he had a petition of 61 signatures in which 2 new residents regretted the speed and intensity of traffic on Fairview. At rush hour, Lydia and Fairview have poor air quality. The signal at "D" and Cleveland has caused the cars to speed up. If the city adds another 2 million s.f. in this area, it will be too much. What are the garbage trucks doing at late night? What can be done to stop garbage trucks -- nothing. The EAW was answered incorrectly. Why doesn't the city ask for other proposals? Eric Olson, 2001 Brenner, stated he would not have purchased in this area if he had known that a hotel would be built in this area. He prefers 9-5 business traffic, Monday through Friday. This project changes the character of the site and neighborhood. Chairperson Katie Harms closed the comment portion of the hearing. She asked for a comparison of 1985 approval plan vs. what is proposed in 1997. Show density, buildings, green space, and other comparisons. Member Bruce Sandstrom thanked the residents for their comments. MOTION: Member Wilke moved, seconded by Member Thein, to continue the public hearing to the March 26 meeting.
