Filsh, Wildlife, and Ecologically Sensitive Resources a. Describe fish and wildlife resources on or near the site and discuss how they would be affected by the project. Describe any measures to be taken to minimize or avoid adverse impacts. The site is located within a heavily urbanized area and past and existing uses of the site limit its suitability for fish and wildlife habitat. The site is located in an industrial area of the City of Roseville and is bounded on the south and east by interstate highway. The southern portion of the site is a residential area consisting of 13 single-family dwellings and other outbuildings. The wooded residential lots provide limited habitat for a few wildlife species. The northern portion of the site contains a previously disturbed area with a gravel pad that has been used for the storage of truck trailers. This area has been used in the past for illegal dumping of demolition debris and household rubbish (e.g., appliances, yard waste, etc.). Some of this area has been overgrown with weeds and shrubs that may provide limited wildlife habitat. The east-central portion of the site consists of a mixture of moderately' dense second growth woods, dense brush, open grassy areas, and a shallow emergent marsh with a fringe of shrub swamp. This area has also been used for illegal dumping. The wooded areas and marsh provide habitat for those wildlife species typical of urban areas. The Gateway Business Park development will result in the elimination of most of the wooded areas, but will preserve the marsh and shrub swamp. The existing trees and wooded area around the preserved wetland will also be preserved to the extent possible. A wetland mitigation area will be developed adjacent to the existing wetland and will replace some of the wildlife habitat that will be impacted on other portions of the site. b..
