City of Roseville

Community Development Department

Memo
Apr8,1997

TO: Jay K., Karl K., Rick Jopke, John Loftus, Marty H.

FROM: Dennis Welsch, Community Development Director

RE: PIKlHyman Freightway Terminal Site

Today I visited with Gene Pikovsky and Pete Martin. (Pete's Phone # 785-6203, Fax #
785-6390). They are seeking a way to exit their site through a new gate at the far
northeast corner on to Arthur Street. They will need a curb cut and driveway access
permit.

I also talked them about their plans to move internal parking lot fencing to an area
further west from their terminal building to allow more turning radius for their trucks and
vans. Their concern here is that there is s fire hydrant that must remain and needs
protection from backing vehicles. They are willing to install steel/concrete bollards or
poles around the hydrant.

Here is the follow-up:

1) Jay-

I told them that Jay would call or fax them details regarding the driveway curb
cut permit on to Arthur Street. It is my understanding that we (community
development) issues these permit after review and approval by engineering. Is
this correct?

2) John and Jay-

I told them that John and Jay would investigate the hydrant issue
and make some recommendation on the protection/permits necessary.

3) Marty-

I told them that no fence permit would be necessary to move the
existing fence. It appears no setback issues are involved here.

---..--,-.----

fP!J

-AGE C'pitBl Comp,n'y

Jeff Griswold
Operstions M,n,ger

Transport Intern,tion,1 Pool, Inc.
1947 County Ro,d C, Rose'liHe, MN 55113
612-789-7265 F,x 612-789-9288
