3.0 MINOR VARIANCE COMMITTEE 3.1 The request for the variance included the required application form, sketch of the boulevard parking space, and written approval from the adjacent property owner affected by the variance (Eric Metz at 443 Southhill Drive). 3.2 The Minor Variance Committee reviewed this request on May 7, 1997, and unanimously recommended approval of the variance to allow the continuance of a boulevard parking space at 455 Southhill Drive, based on the following findings: 1. The boulevard parking space is listed on the inventory of boulevard parking spaces regularly in use, dated June 30, 1984. 2. A public improvement project being undertaken in 1997 (P-97 -02) will involve the disturbance of the boulevard at 455 Southhill Drive. 3. A mature evergreen tree would need to be removed in order to extend the boulevard parking space the required 20 feet onto the property. 4. There is no other practical location for an off-street parking area on the property . 5. The proposed variances are in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the City's Comprehensive Plan and Title 10 of the City Code (Zoning). 6. The variances, if granted, will not adversely affect the public health, safety, or general welfare. ~o SUGGESTEDACnON 4.1 By motion, approve Virginia Olson's request for a minor variance to allow the continuance of a boulevard parking space at 455 Southhill Drive, based on the findings of the Minor Variance Committee outlined in section 3.2 of this report.
