<br /> <br /> Rental License Program <br />August 1, 2014 Update <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br />The Rental License P <br />The program was approved by City Council in 2013 for implementation in 2014 by the Community <br />Development Department. <br />The program applies to multi-family buildings containing 5 or more dwelling units. <br />The program is partially funded by fees and partially by the Community Development Department. <br /> <br />Goals of the Program: <br />To assure that multi-family rental dwellings are safe, sanitary and well maintained, thereby providing a <br />minimum level of health and safety for residents renting apartments in Roseville. <br />To assure that residents and children may pursue activities free from criminal activity, noises, nuisances, <br />and fears of safety and security. <br />To maintain a minimum level of physical appearance of rental properties in order to maintain property <br />values and the livability of neighborhoods. <br />To create greater awareness, understanding and compliance with city codes and ordinances through <br />education, cooperation and enforcement. <br />What is being Inspected: <br />Site conditions: <br /> <br />Trip hazards, parking lot conditions, dead vegetation, outside storage, inoperable vehicles, dead <br />o <br />vegetation, etc. <br />Building exteriors: <br /> <br />Peeling paint, rotted trim, broken windows/doors, damaged garage doors, etc. <br />o <br />Common areas and mechanical rooms: <br /> <br />Condition of doors, walls, carpet, railings, gas lines, furnace venting, appliances, equipment, <br />o <br />other hazards, etc. <br />Individual Units (25% are inspected): <br /> <br />Condition of doors, walls, carpet, appliances, smoke and CO detectors, egress windows, etc. <br />o <br /> <br />Numbers of Rental Properties Inspected: <br />149 applications have been submitted: <br /> <br />11 applications have not been returned (5 properties): <br />o <br />Through 08-01-2014, staff have inspected: <br /> <br />65 buildings. <br />o <br /> <br />373 units. <br />o <br />st <br /> <br />Anticipate completing inspections by November 1. <br />o <br /> <br /> <br />
