537 Prior to those speakers being brought in, Member Seigler suggested in-house <br />538 discussions with the City's Planning and Community Development Department <br />539 provide their initial reactions for solar installations within the current City of <br />540 Roseville ordinances, their comparisons with Rosemount ordinances; and then in <br />541 September seek comments from vendors or other speakers after the current <br />542 situation had been sufficiently evaluated and any action steps outlined. <br />543 <br />544 Ms. Schwartz advised that staff would consult with other departments to <br />545 determine their schedules over the next four weeks. <br />546 lak <br />547 Chair Stenlund suggested that staff invite local church representatives, one of <br />548 whom was already working with CERTs on a community solar garden; and their <br />549 application process in installing it. <br />550 'or * <br />551 Mr. Schwartz noted that a local group, Minnesota Interfaith Power and Water, <br />552 were working with different church groups on solar options; and suggested a <br />553 representative from that group would be another good speaker for the PWETC. <br />554 <br />555 At the request of Chair Stenlund, Mr. Schwartz duly noted theNcase <br />'s interest <br />556 in addressing wind turbine installations, obstacles and courtromother <br />557 communities that may be part of this discussion as well. <br />558 <br />559 Other areas of interest expressed by PWETC members included: tree location, <br />560 sizes and species as they related to solar garden and compatibilities issues, and <br />561 tree-dominates areas that may not be amenable for solar gardens; similar concerns <br />562 with adjacent buildings on solar ins allations; and any areas where boulevard trees <br />563 may be a confli t of in r st. <br />564 <br />565rthat <br />enz, as a former member of th arks & Recreation Commission, noted <br />566 commission also served a the City's Tree Board, and should be <br />567 on tree issues related to this issue. <br />568 <br />569 Mr. Schwartz stated that staff would send out a link for the PWETC's information <br />570 regarding a GIS mapping application that students from the U of MN developed <br />571 to look at property to tions to determine if they are or are not good candidates <br />572 for solar inst ti <br />573 <br />574 8.
