U1 MINOR VARIANCE COMMITTEE

3.1 The request for the variance included the required application form, sketch of the
property and existing driveway, written statement from the applicant, and written
approval from the adjacent property owner affected by the variance (Michelle Roth
at 1247 Roselawn Avenue W).

3.2 The Minor Variance Committee reviewed this request on August 19, 1997, and
unanimously recommended approval of a minor variance to allow the replacement
and continuance of a driveway less than one foot from the east side property line
at 1253 Roselawn Avenue W, based on the following findings:

1. The established setback from the east property line will not be reduced.

2. The width of the driveway will not exceed 26 feet at the property line.

3. The proposed variance is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of
the City's Comprehensive Plan and Title 10 of the City Code (Zoning).

4. The variance, if granted, will not adversely affect the public health, safety, or
general welfare.

~ SUGGESTED ACTION

4.1 8y motion, approve Robert Putz's request for a minor variance to reduce the
driveway setback to less than one foot along the east side property line for the
purpose of replacing an existing driveway at 1253 Roselawn Avenue W, based on
the findings of the Minor Variance Committee outlined in section 3.2 of this report.

Attachments: Property location map; minor variance application; written statement from applicant; written
consent from adjacent property owners; sketch of property; photographs of property.

60-day Time Limit: Application accepted on August 11, 1997; Decision deadline is October 10, 1997.

Prepared by: Kim L.
