<br />JJl MINOR VARIANCE COMMITTEE <br /> <br />3.1 The request for the variance included the required application form, sketch of the <br />property and driveway, written statement from the applicant, and written approval <br />from the adjacent property owners affected by the variance (Sherry Schalk at 2720 <br />Marion Street N). <br /> <br />3.2 The Minor Variance Committee reviewed this request on September 3,1997, and <br />unanimously recommended approval of a minor variance to reduce the side yard <br />setback of a driveway to less than one foot for the purpose of bringing an existing <br />driveway at 2714 Marion Street North into compliance with the City Code, based on <br />the following findings: <br /> <br />1. The existing setback from the south property line will not be reduced. <br /> <br />2. The width of the driveway will not exceed 26 feet at the property line. <br /> <br />3. The proposed variance is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of <br />the City's Comprehensive Plan and Title 10 of the City Code (Zoning). <br /> <br />4. The variance, if granted, will not adversely affect the public health, safety, or <br />general welfare. <br /> <br />~ SUGGESTEDACnON <br /> <br />4.1 By motion, approve Vernon Roman's request for a minor variance to reduce the <br />side yard setback of a driveway to less than one foot for the purpose of bringing an <br />existing driveway at 2714 Marion Street North into compliance with the City Code, <br />based on the findings of the Minor Variance Committee outlined in section 3.2 of <br />this report. . <br /> <br />Attachments: Property location map; minor variance application; written statement from applicant; written <br />consent from adjacent property owners; sketch of property; photograph of property. <br /> <br />60-day Time Limit: Application accepted on August 22, 1997; Decision deadline is October 21, 1997. <br /> <br />Prepared by: Kim L.
