hall to attempt to resolve the addressing issue. The meeting was scheduled for 1 :00
pm, September 18th and all renters and the Halversons were invited. The
Halverson's were to notify their renters of the meeting.

Joe Ross called before the meeting, thinking he was to meet with the City Manager.
Our notes show he did not attend the meeting Mardy told me of the dilemma and I
called Mr. Ross and left a message on his answering machine about the meeting and
what we hopes to accomplish. David Windle and I did meet with the renters and
Halversons and worked out an agreement acceptable to all - the 4 renters in building
1 would have dual addresses for 6 months (they could use either old or new address
for the six month period) after which the post office would recognize the new
address 2087 Samuel. David hand-delivered notices of this change and gained
approval from the Post Office. The Halversons said they would talk to Mr. Ross.

Mr. Ross later called Steve North, who in turn called me to talk to Ross. He was
upset that his address would be changed without his approval because he would
have to change his address on licenses, checks, and credit cards. I explained the
safety issues, the responsibilities of the Halversons, and my position - in six months
the city would recognize 2087 Samuel as the official address and all future buildings
on this private street would have an address on Samuel.

attachments: 1) Address map
2) Letter to residents

2
