The MPCA review identified one CERCLIS (M4) and three MPCA-1980
Metropolitan Area Waste Disposal site Inventory sites (M1, M2 and
M3) wi thin a one-mile radius of the Property. The locations of
these potential sources are summarized below and on Table 1 and
identified on Figure 1.

(M1) Paul's Place Demolition site, southwest of the Snelling
Avenue and Lydia Avenue intersection,Roseville;
(M2) Midwest Brass & Aluminum Foundry Waste Dump site,
vicinity of the Snelling Avenue and cummings Lane
intersection, Arden Hills;
(M3) Hotline complaint (H-57) Polar Locker Plant, 2561 North
Snelling, Roseville and
(M4) Abandoned house in Roseville, 2500 North Fairview
Avenue, Roseville.

sites recorded in the Comprehensive Environmental Response,
Compensation and Liability Information System (CERCLIS) are those
included on the U. S. EPA' s data base of potential or actual
hazardous waste sites nationwide. Sites included on the MPCA -
1980 Metropolitan Area Waste Disposal Site Inventory are
abandoned dumps, demolition sites, tree disposal sites, fly ash
sites, foundry sand and slag sites, surface impoundments and
other dumps recorded on USGS topographic maps and Hudsons Street
Atlas for the area. Most of these sites were discovered prior to
the creation of the MPCA, and detailed information about them is
generally not available.

,

The file evaluation also included a review of the Underground
Storage Tank Information system data base, which contains
information about underground storage, leaks, and spills of
petroleum products and/or hazardous substances. six spills have
been reported within a one-mile radius of the Property since
1989. These spills are listed in Table 1 and the locations are
shown on Figure 1.

1

I

None of these potential sources should impact soil and/or
ground-water quality at the Property, given what is known about
their location to the Property and local topography and
hydrogeology. Ground-water flow direction at locations M1 and M2
is expected to be away from the Property to the northwest,
towards Little Lake Johanna and Lake Johanna, respectively.
Ground-water flow direction under M3 is expected to be in a
northly direction toward the depression immediately north and
northwest. Shallow ground-water flow under M4, Sl, S3, S4, S5,
and S6 is expected to be along a drainageway that runs to the
north into a small swampy area northwest of the sites and west of
Snelling Avenue as shown in Figure 1. Ground-water flow direction
beneath S2 is expected to be towards the north and Lake
Josephine.

J

I
I

I

I
