Currently 20 of 24
homes are maintained with a driveway along side the
house with a single or double garage tucked just
behind the house. The remaining 4 homes have
attached garages that are visibly well within the
estab lished codes.

It is true that our lots are narrow and deep. It is also
true that a double garage would add to the value of such
property, but the surrounding neighbors have chosen
single & double garages tucked behind their homes to
accollllllodate the narrowness of the lots. Both types of
garages are good enough for other residents of
Chatsworth Street. Why isn't is good enough for Lois
Nyman, and why at the expense of our trees?

I would like to address the Background Section,
Paragraph 2.3 of the Request for Council Action Item,
No. I-I, dated 6-22-98 regarding Lois Nyman's shelter
options:

It is stated that a detached garage in the rear yard is an
option for Lois Nyman, however, several(?) mature trees
would need to be removed. Exactly how does that
differ from our interests as neighbors to the viability
of our trees?
