Roseville Planning Commission
Roseville City Council
Attention: Dennis ~elsch
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville,MN 55113

- ~ C\tJ
~

December 3, 1998

Dear Friends:

I am a resident of Rosev~lle, and a member of Prince Of Peace Church. I have
tried honestly and fairly to look at the proposal our church has made for
senior housing nearby and expansion of our parking area. As I am also a
senior citizen, you will probably think that I am prejudiced. That I would
accept housing on any terms, even if it ruined the beauty around us.This is
not true. I love nature and am proud to live near Central Park. I do believe
that the 2nd proposal you are about to receive is more feasible. The land is
N~ of the sanctuary and not as visible. It would serve the housing needs just
as well as the SE location.

I cannot see the complex spoiling views of .fireworks in this location anymore
than a growing tree. ~hen I first moved to Roseville, the trees in the
neighborhood were young. ~e would sit on the first floor steps and watch the
fireworks nearby at Central Park. Today, these same t~e~$,tQwer 100 feet over
the countryside, and I can rarely see any except the . tallest displays and
rockets from my window. If there are any parking spots left at Prince Of -
Peace Church I occasionally park there.

I doubt if there will be many (if any) objections to our expansion of park-
ing facilities. I hope not. ~e need parking badly! Sometimes I am running
late, due to last minute phone calls from out-of-town. ~hen I drive to church,
I am saddened that there is no place to park...absolutely none! And I am
forced to return home with an empty heart.

Many members of the church feel challenged to help with this missiDn . , and
are excited with the prospect of next-door housing. Seniors without transport-
ation can take advantagepf the wonderful park, add to the tax-base and nearby
bus service for Roseville Shopping!~e welcome persons of all faiths to the
housing and to use our facilities. Please take this into consideration and
approve the sorely needed housing and expansion. of our parking area.

Thank You for your consideration,

~d. ~~g~~

Mrs A.
