The addition will be located on the McCarrons Boulevard side <br />of the existing structure, which is located within 10' of the ordinary high water level of Lake McCarron's. <br />A variance is required for any addition to a non-conforming structure. <br /> <br />It is our position that the addition as proposed would not increase the non-conformity of the existing <br />structure. Therefore, the DNR does not object to the approval of the proposed variance and recommends <br />that the following conditions be attached to the variance: <br /> <br />1. There existing structure should be screened from view from Lake McCarrons by planting <br />additional trees in the space between the structure and the lake. We recommend that the applicant <br />be required to submit a landscaping plan to the city for approval. <br /> <br />2. A deck has been added to the existing structure that has been constructed over Lake McCarrons. <br />The deck should be removed once age has made the deck unusable. Under no circumstances <br />should this deck be repaired or replaced in its present location. <br /> <br />Thank you for faxing this variance request to the DNR for comment.
