Minnesota 55121 <br /> <br />BE: Housing Replacement Program: 2190 St. Croix, Roseville <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Jamnik: <br /> <br />The City. in connection with the Housing Replacement Program. entered into contract on April 23. 1999 <br />with Preferred Builder, Inc. 1333 OS,borne Road, Spring Lake Park, for the demolition and new home <br />construction on property located at 2190 St. Croix Street. <br /> <br />To date the timely performance by Preferred Builder. Inc has been unsatisfactory in that the only actual <br />work that has been performed since purchase is the demolition of the old house and excavation for the <br />new home. A building permit was issued on April 28. 1999 for the construction of the new home. We <br />have received several complaints from the neighbors about the condition of the lot (photos attached). <br />and although we have made several attempts (via phone and letter) to get Preferred Builder to comply <br />with the contract and continue with the clean-up of the lot and construction of the new home. we have <br />not been successful. <br /> <br />In my opinion they have not performed in compliance with the contract. Please let me know in writing <br />what our options are, i.e.. can we take the property back? (per the contract Preferred Builder is to have <br />the project substantially completed by September 23, 1999).
