Project Summary <br /> <br /><' <br /> <br />Hamline Commons includes the redevelopment of an aging and undemtilized retail <br />shopping strip mall called Hamline Shopping Center. The proposed Project includes <br />a reconfiguration of the site to increase density by adding 120 units of senior housing <br />and 40,000 square feet of new neighborhood retail, office and educational space and a <br />common area promenade that will serve as the gateway to the SUlTOunding multi <br />family residential neighborhood and will include a transit shelter at the entry of the <br />promenade. In addition, the City is requesting funds to provide deferred loans to <br />families who buy homes from the seniors that move into the new development The <br />funds will be used to buy down the cost of 10 homes to an affordable level based upon <br />the Metropolitan Council's affordability index. <br /> <br />Page 1 <br />
