There are <br />currently 26 marked and unmarked squad cars. Based on the current number sworn patrol <br />officers, this results in a current ratio of about 2 officers per car. This ratio will be applied in the <br />fiscal model. The cost per new patrol car is summarized in the table below. According to the <br />Police Department, patrol cars have a useful life of 2 years based on the City's vehicle <br />replacement program. The fiscal model will automatically replace patrol vehicles at the end of <br />their useful life.
