A City Center Task Force is currently discussing
various options. Any renovation or expansion of City Hall to accommodate the Police
Department needs would be financed through a bond referendum. However, for purposes of the
fiscal analysis, in order to maintain current levels of service new Police space will be "built" as
summarized in the table below. This will ensure that future growth has the same level of service
as current growth and is incurred the appropriate capital cost.

Police Building Factors
City of Roseville

Police Calls (1)

1998

Percent

Residential Land Uses
Nonresidential Land Uses
TOTAL RES AND NON RES

18.195
4,790
22,985

79.2%
20.8%
100.0%

Square Feet of Existing Facility 2,000

Cost per Square Foot (2) $150

Levels of Service
Current Population
Total Citywide Nonres Trips (3)
Square Feet per Pop
Square Feet per Nonres Trip

34.334
170,457
0.046 (based on 79.2% residential calls)
0.002 (based on 20.8% nonresidential calls)

(1) Based on calls for service data provided by the Police Department.
(2) T A estimate based on typical development costs for Police facilities including equipment.
(3) Refer to the Supporting Documentation Section for the calculation of Citywide nonresidential trips.

Source: City of Roseville.
