There are
currently 26 marked and unmarked squad cars. Based on the current number sworn patrol
officers, this results in a current ratio of about 2 officers per car. This ratio will be applied in the
fiscal model. The cost per new patrol car is summarized in the table below. According to the
Police Department, patrol cars have a useful life of 2 years based on the City's vehicle
replacement program. The fiscal model will automatically replace patrol vehicles at the end of
their useful life. These costs will be incurred on a pay as you go basis.

New Patrol Vehicle Costs
City of Roseville

Patrol Vehicle
Radio
Shotgun
Kits
Logo
Lights and Bars
Total New Patrol Vehicle Costs

$21,000
$4,000
$300
$200
$300
$500
$26,300

Source: Roseville Police Deparlment

Police Building

As discussed in Part A above, the Police Department currently operates out of 2,000 square feet
of space in the City Hall complex.
