The purpose of accepting the proposals is to allow additional time for <br />further review and refinement. <br /> <br />1.2 'Request that Council authorizes staff to work with financial and architectural consultants <br />for the evaluation ofthe proposals which would be hired and paid for by the City. Further <br />findings would be conducted by the consultants with recommendations presented to the <br />Council for consideration on each proposal at the July 26, 1999 regular Council meeting. <br /> <br />2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />2.1 SummaryofRFP <br /> <br />On March 22, 1999 Council approved the distribution ofthe attached Request for Proposal <br />which was drafted by staff and revised with Council and citizen comments. The RFP was <br />mailed of over 115 developers, architects and interested parties by May 1, 1999. The <br />objective of the RFP was to solicit park complementary and compatible development <br />concepts for two acres of City owned land at the corner of Lexington and County Road B <br />abutting Lexington Park. <br /> <br />2.2 Summary of Schedule <br /> <br />The RFP called for an aggressive time schedule which is outlined as follows: <br /> <br />. Submittal Deadline: <br />. Staff & Consultant Review <br />- recommend up to three proposals <br />. Preliminary City Council Review <br />- presentation of up to three proposals <br />. Further Refinement of three proposals <br />. Preliminary City Council Developer Selection <br />- one chosen proposal <br />· Further Concept Refinement of chosen proposal <br />.
