ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION

Page' 7

Wednesday, June 7, 1989

Dahlgren pointed out that the developer and the Post Office staff
are capable and would like to see an effort to come up with a
better proposal. Dahlgren added that it is difficult to design
the site by committee but that if the applicant is given
direction, they could make changes to come up with a better plan.

Maschka stated that the items of concern included repositioning
the drop box, providing curbing on the east side, development of
uniform materials and uniform color scheme, providing four
handicap parking spaces by the door, and tinting the stucco VB.
painting it.

Berry stated that additional right of way should be dedicated and
that a sidewalk should be provided and she was also concerned
about having private space in front.

Goedeke stated he was concerned about the design of the building.

Maschka moved, Berry seconded to continue the public hearing on
this matter to July 5, 1989.

Commers stated that he believed that they could meet all the
requests except for the Post Office leasing the front part of the
building.

Dahlgren stated that there appeared to be too much building which
- potentially creates the parking problem. Dahlgren suggested that
an alternative to be considered might include tearing down the
office portion in front.

Commers replied that there would be $120,000 per year loss if the
front portion of the building was torn down.

Johnson stated that Commissioner stokes is abstaining from this
matter because he did a appraisal of the building.

Roll Call:

Maschka, Berry, Goedeke, Johnson

Ayes:

Nays:

None

Abstain: stokes

Planninq 1972

Richard Stranik request for rezoning from s-c to B-3, special use
permit for automobile repair shop and variance to parking
standards at 2168 Snelling Avenue.

Presentation

-----

~&\
~~
