,

3. Buffer zone. In many places around the Har Mar perimeter, green space and buffer
zones are poor. Since Har Mar is proposing a significant addition to the property,
this issue for the entire site needs to be addressed.

It is my understanding that making one change to a property forces the entire
property to be brought up to current code standards. Har Mar should not be
exempted from this requirement.

Our basic, overriding concern is that a Cub Foods store at Har Mar will adversely impact
and devalue the neighborhood: there will be increased noise, traffic, pollution, trash and
crime. Is that fair to the neighborhood? Is it beneficial to all concerned? Will it help
build a better relationship between the neighborhood and owners and operators at Har
Mar? We believe not, and strongly urge the City Council to work actively to improve the
situation in the interest of all concerned.

Thank you for your attention to these issues, and. please feel free to contact us if any
points are unclear.

Sincerely yours,

~M.~

~~t.c.- ~.
